ABOUT XOCHITL CRUZ

Xochitl Cruz (she/they) creates photographs that consider interrelated notions of identity, place, and culture. Based in Los Angeles, Xochitl's itinerant upbringing informs her interest in using photography to explore her local community in Eagle Rock, as well as building her community of friends and mentors. A student at Las Fotos Project (LFP) since 2018, she is currently enrolled in the studio-based course Creative Entrepreneurship Opportunities 301, which has already expanded her interest in fashion and editorial photography. She has contributed to editorial and commercial assignments for clients like Footlocker, Forever 21, and HBO Max Pa’Lante. Aside from photography, Xochitl serves as a leader in school clubs and LFP’s Youth Advisory Council. Motivated by her love for life and her artistic practice, Xochitl is excited about the future.
